I used bevel and extrude to make 3d text but how do I revert back

This may be a proper noob question but I made a logo and used the 3d to bevel and extrude it, I saved the file and switched off etc and now I have loaded my save file back in I don't lik ethe 3D. I tried going back in th eoptions and knocking everything to 0 but that hasn't reverted my file back to the plain 2d text I started with.

Is there a way to revertback with out starting over?
