HELP: Looks like Adobe illustrator take`s over. Every few minutes so i can`t type any more. And have to click it again so i can type again.
When adobe Illustrator is running in the background. And i am going to type a mail to a costumer.
It suddenly stops typing. But when i reclick my mail client where i am working in it works again.
Looks like everytime adobe wants to connect or something. Like it switches without showing the screen. Dont know for sure tho.
I have already updated my system OS ( Windows )
Reinstalled Adobe Illustrator and updated
Deleted alle fonts etc (fresh start)
What could it be and are there more people with this same problem

I'm not getting to centralize a pattern as I create the pattern and fill an object, the graphics became locked as it is filled (Bug?)
I'm not getting to centralize a pattern as I create one and fill an object the graphics became locked just like I had turned the expanding function, for me this might be a bug* Or there is some command function to unlock maybe in Illustrator cc?! Anyone could help me!? I would be gratefull! That never happened to me before an is kind anoying... I hope someone could help me! Thanks!

fonts look rather pixelized, not suitable for professional smooth looking logo?
The same is on AI CC 2015. Letters are not pixel-perfect, smooth.

Illustrator CC15 pantone problems
Hi, I created a group of logos using Illustrator CC14. I've since upgraded to CC15 and noticed that although I'm use the same pantone the conversion figures differ.
So in CC14, Pantone 185 is (cmyk 0/100/81/0 rgb 235/0/40 and hex eb0028).
In CC15, Pantone 185 is (cmyk 0/100/81/0 rgb 201/0/44 and hex c9002c).
Am I doing something wrong does anyone else have to issue.

Centralise an off-centre design by using a rectangle larger than the design but sharing the same center point
Thanks to the help of kind people on this forum I have a script that
does everything I want it to do on about 99% of all designs I have
to deal with. The other 1% would be those which are not in themselves
central to the Illustrator page because of uneven placement of elements in
them.
The problem is illustrated thus: the uneven masked-off bleed on this example, when stepped, repeated
and grouped to create my plate layout prevents it from being centered on the page as I need it to be:
and my solution -
I draw a rectangle which shares the center point of the design's keyline and is bigger than everything in
the original. When this is stepped (four across) and repeated (two back) the plate layout comes out in the
center of the page; and then I delete the rectangles from it and it looks like it should:
That works, of course, but I'd really like to achieve programatically what I did manually, creating a rectangle
that sits on the same center point as the keyline of the artwork and extends beyond its furthest limits.
I'm not sure even how to start the calculations to work out how far the rectangle would need to extend;
or if you could create a pathItem and sit it on another's central point.
Perhaps it'd be a better idea, if possible, to offset the keyline path until it extends further than the (invisible)
bleed, but how to know when it was big enough ......?
Any advice (especially mathematical!) would be most gratefully received.

Why can't I add arrowheads to a line?
I can't seem to add an arrowhead to any line I create as the drop down list is empty.
Anyone know how I can solve this?

how to fine tune pattern brushes?
I'm currently working on a project where I need to show the flow or direction of a line, I have made a custom arrow pattern brush for this purpose. I prefer to work in Photoshop, so I usually use ps files, and image trace them, the problem that i'm having is that when I apply my pattern brush to the lines in the image, more often than not the pattern doubles back on itself or changes direction mid line, making this useless for showing direction, I know how to get to the options for the pattern brush, but nothing I try works, the closest I've come is to make my lines exactly one pixel in width, which is time consuming, and not possible for some projects, I am going to need to apply this technique to a lot of future projects, so I need to try to streamline the process and make it as efficient as possible, if anyone can give me any pointers it would be greatly appreciated.

Suggestion: Toggle between [prev/next] views
Actually, I got this idea from Google/Trimble Sketchup. When you scroll and pan the view, you can easily toggle between these views with a keyboard shortcut, and I thought this could be quite amazing to be able to do in Illustrator, well, all Creative Suite, I guess.
Just a thought.

Can't figure out how to get individual control of Filll and Strokes.
Hi, I have to Redesign a website of a shipping company. They are located on "Curacao". In Illustrator I traced the following Image of Curacao to make it vector :

Now, The next step is filling in the Colors and Strokes and changing the opacity of them Individually. Now this my problem. I tried expanding the Image, made a live paint group. But I just can't get "Individual" control of the Fill in and Strokes.
I might be overseeing something. It is not a complicated Image..so If someone could help I would really appreciate it.

Khmer/Cambodian font displays incorrectly in Illustrator
I am doing a typeset piece for a client in Khmer. The text shows up correctly in Word using the Khmer OS font, but once I copy/paste into Illustrator using the same font, it shows incorrectly.

I had this same problem in InDesign but was able to fix it by running a special script. I've researched all over the internet to figure out how to correct it for Illustrator and can't find anything!
I do have the "Show Indic Options" selected under Type Preferences.

My illustrator keeps crashing when I try to save document?

I'm in column view trying to open a file in Adobe Illustrator but the preview of the file scrolls off the right side of the screen.
When I try to open a file in Illustrator (File>Open) I'd like to see the preview of the file that is usually off to the right in column-view when I click on the file name once. But, the final column now has a large white space to the left of the image so that the image scrolls off the right side of the screen. This did not occur when I first loaded Illustrator, but it does now. This does not occur in any other program. How do I get it to bring the preview back to the left?

CS5 Illustrator crashes when I try to save in OS 10.10 Yosemite
I just bought a new iMac with Yosemite OS 10.10. I clean installed my old CS5 Illustrator and Photoshop from DVD. Now Illustrator crashes when I try to save and Photoshop crashes when I try to save or print.

New to Illustrator - Easy Answer Please to How to Create Logo on Transparency
Hello Illustrator Community: I need help with how to create a logo that will have a transparent background when exported to other software such as Word or InDesign or uploaded for online use to blogs and websites. My typical steps: I do a a pen and ink line drawing/sketch of text and image, then scan, then "place" into Illustrator, then "rasterize", then create a "silhouette" At this point, I was imagining that the logo is now ready to export and use with a transparent background. HOWEVER, when I insert it into Word for instance, the logo is accompanied by the white background, which is frustrating and useless! What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Rick
