It is weird I am not able to find the color options in my gradient panel?? Something is wrong some where, please help.

I was in the process of buying Illustrator and then Adobe said that my current location is USA, when it is actually New Zealand, and so i clicked "Change" and it then said to call the provided number to change my country yet when i called the number it did not ring. Is there any other way that i can change my country to New Zealand?

Why does Illustrator crash when saving to a new location on my new MacPro 13" Retina Pro running Yosemite?

Hi everyone my first time posting a question so really grateful for any assistance

I opened up a couple of my Illustrator files and my artwork has vanished? The art boards are present but there is nothing else there. Nothing hidden in the layers section or libraries, even the symbol area is defaulting back to the standard web symbols.

The pngs I saved are ok but clearly I want the original artwork, can someone please help me?

I'm writing you as I have a small problem  when I export to PDF from Illustrator.

In Illustrator the size of the page is 21,51X34,71 ... but when I save in PDF the size of the page is 13X14

I have to save in PDF as the printer is waiting for the file.

Any help?

Illustrator crashes constantly when I cut/paste or delete an object...any ideas?

I have a document with hundreds of icons, each organized into its own layer, and each layer containing it's slice.

Opening the Slice Options dialog to rename the slices to the same name as the layer is extremely slow, probably because I have too many slices.

So I wanted to make a script that goes through all my layer's and renames each slice it finds with the name of the parent layer.

Is that possible? I haven't found any examples that rename a slice.

When you setup your lower left corner of the page to be 0,0 (Edit Artboards) and you turn on the rulers it shows that the Upper Left corner is in fact 0,0 which puts all your artwork in a negitive Y coordinate!  In Illustrator CS4 did not have this problem!  Any suggestions would be welcome!

Raster (mainly) files up to 350 Mb. run fast in Illustrator CC, while vector files of 10 Mb. are a pain in the *blieb* (eg. zooming & panning). When reading the file it seems to freeze around 95 % for a few minutes. Memory usage goes up to 6 Gb. Processor usage 30 - 50 %.

Are there ways to speed things up while working with large vector files in Illustrator CC?

System:

64 bit Windows 7 enterprise

Memory: 16 Gb

Processor: Intel Xeon 3,7 GHz (8 threads)

Hello... can anyone help with hardware setup. I'm setting up a new (well, new to me) Windows workstation.

I primarily run Illustrator with large files ---- 100+ MB files for output on Epson 44" printers.

Currently I'm using a Dell 690, Dual Xeon single cores, 32 GB RAM

--- 4 Hard Drives

------ 1 OS only

------ 1 Files only

------ 1 w/ primary Scratch Disk partition and secondary Page File partition

------ 1 w/ secondary Scratch Disk Partition and primary Page File partition

New box is a Dell T7400, Dual Xeon Quad Cores, 32 GB RAM

----- Will set up with 5 Hard Drives - the one that is in it plus 4 more WD (Black or Red)

I'm pretty sure it has a RAID controller

I drive will be the OS and programs.

Do I do Raid 5 with 4 drives and then set scratch disk and page file on that Array?

Or Raid 5 with 3 drives and put the scratch disk on the 4th drive that is not in the Array?

Or Raid 10?

I need speed out of this.

Also... how would an NAS - like the Synology DS 412+ compare to the setups above?

Also... how does an NAS hold up with 2 users using it simultaneously?

The other day I discovered this awesome third party After Effects plugin called Locations.

It allows you to add geolocated markers to maps in After Effects.

Does anyone know if such a cartography plugin exists for Illustrator CC? I already googled and haven't found anything yet.

But it would be far better to be able to accurately position cities on a vector map in Illustrator prior to importing into After Effects.

On some objects I draw in Illustrator CC, I can adjust the stroke by selecting any stroke weight, and it works. However, when I draw an object with the rectangle or pen tool and I select any weight under 1pt. (after I have drawn the object), the stroke width snaps back to 1. Why won't it let me make this adjustment?

Using Illustrator we create a project. The images in Illustrator look correct. We can save the file and reopen and they still look correct. The issue is we perform a conversion to Adobe Acrobat Pro and pull up the PDF the images have shrunk. They have become so small that when we print they look bad. So I took the same project this user created and opened it with another users copy of Illustrator and it looks fine. The other user can also open the converted file and print fine without image shrinkage. So not sure if its an Illustrator or Adobe Acrobat issue.

It doesn't matter whether i'm exporting from Ai or Ps or whether it's CS6 or CC. I have changed the raster settings in Ai and i've also tried all optimization options with all different export file types (jpg, png, gif) at all different quality settings. It doesn't matter if I start with an ai, eps, pdf, png... the export result is always poor quality.

I have tried exporting at 300ppi and that does fix the quality issue and bloats the file size, but this way (the export route) is so time consuming since you have to resize your artwork each time as well as the artboard so that it doesn't cut off pixels. Save for web never used to have these quality issues and it also never used to cut off pixels around the edges. These workarounds prove very time consuming and produce file sizes that are not ideal.

When i first noticed this issue I was using Mavericks with CS6 and since am using Yosemite and Creative Cloud.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create any bitmap or vector graphic in Ai or Ps, It doesn't matter whether you convert text to outlines or not

2. Save for web

3. View image in any application or browser to see poor quality and pixel trimming. Others running the same version and system are not having this issue, but I have checked many forums and found many others that do have this same issue but can't seem to find a solution.

Results:stair stepping, degradation, pixel trimming, general poor image quality

Expected results: Previously the save for web feature allowed for a decent quality image

I recently downloaded Creative Suite 5 Design Premium onto my new mac. It was installed on my old mac and worked fine. But with the download onto my new mac the fonts in Illustrator don't show up unless the mouse is scrolled over them. Which makes it very difficult to find or view fonts.

Any idea why my colors panel is greyed out? Here's  screenshot - I've tried and tried to figure this out! SO any help is appreciated!

I'm not sure how to get the selected item, I have the scriptui-2-5 guide from Peter Hahrel and it has been a major help but doesn't say how to get the users choice that I can find.

I made a selection part near the bottom that goes through every item of every branch to get the selection but it never works.  I even tried the "cal_Tree.selected" but it only returns the index number not the name.
