CC libraries won't sync in illustrator? says unable to connect to server.
I am trying to share shapes I've captured on the mobile adobe shape app and open them in illustrator. The Libraries tab shows that it cannot connect with the CC server. I have the same problem in photoshop as well.

Can I use Javascript to call Check Spelling? Illustrator CS5
I currently use Javascript to export jpgs out of illustrator when I am done with a graphic. I would like to add an "Auto-QC" feature which would fire a spell check before I export. I can't seem to find any documentation on how to call the Check Spelling (Edit > Check Spelling...). Anyone have any ideas? I would also like if I could fire Smart Punctuation (Type > Smart Punctuation...) as well, but that is a lower priority. I have seen it mentioned in CS6 forums, but does anyone know how to make it work with Illustrator CS5?

Can I export text with Effects preserved?
I have a word of text and I have used Effects-3D rotate-custom rotation to modify the word. When I try to cut and paste or export to InDesign or Photoshop, I either get the word without the rotation modifications I made, or I get the word with background (like a graphic element). I need to place the word, with rotation modifications, against a colored background so if it comes out of the Paste with a white background, it's no good.

Text justification problem
I work with adobe illustrator cc
I have a problem with text justification.
I select the whole text body first but when I push one of justification buttons, nothing happens.
(I add that all text alignment buttons work.)
So What's my wrong in justification?

Load styles does not overwrite existing styles
I'm using Illustrator CC 2014 on Win 7 operating system, upgrading a variety of Illustrator files from CS6 to CC format. But I've had this same problem back when I upgraded from CS5 to CS6, as well.
- I have a variety of character styles I use in all my publication artwork.
- I want to change a font used in the styles throughout all of the documents, so I change the styles in Template.ai,
- I open another document that has the same style names, where I want to overwrite those styles with new font settings saved in Template.ai
- I choose "Load Character Styles" or "Load All Styles", select the Template.ai, and the import appears to complete without any problems (no error messages).
- But if the Style Name is already existing in the document, it will not overwrite the existing style with the imported style settings (the way it does in InDesign). The styles just stay the same.
- I have to actually delete all the styles, then import the revised styles to get them to appear with the changed font. Which, of course, is a pain, because I don't want to have to reapply the style to all the different elements in each graph.
Am I missing something here? Thanks -- Nancy

I am using Illustrator and must have hit a short cut and now can't activate the path anylonger.
Can someone help me please - I am using Illustrator and must have hit a short cut inadvertently as suddenly now can't activate the path any longer - just the whole item is activated. I can no longer see the anchors and handles.

Saved Adobe Illustrator as PDF. When opened, PDF does not contain the images?
I am using a brochure type template in Illustrator and I have placed a few images in the brochure.
I have completed my brochure and want to save the AI file as a PDF.
I have saved the PDF file but when I open it, all of the images are gone.
What can I do to fix this?

If I save my Ai file as PDF the colors become washed out.. What is it and how do I change it? I've searched the web for it for hours..

The last letters previously I entered appears when I move the mouse, then enter other letters.

Brush to .pdf
Dear Friends,
Could anyone please tell me how to use brushes with .pdfs in Illustrator CS5? I imported the .pdf via the Place function. In fact I want to put a whole-page frame/boder in an A/4 document. MS Word has very simple borders.

I'm new to Illustrator, and Document Setup is unresponsive.
I'm new to Illustrator, and I can't bring up the Document Setup option under File, as it's unresponsive. Also every time I press 'New...' a new canvas just appears without giving me the Document Setup window option. Why is this and what do I need to do?

Can I use illustrator to create a pencil & ink drawing from scratch?
I've been taking some courses on drawing with pencil and I'd like to apply the techniques in Illustrator. I've been doing some research to see if I could find how to draw using pencil technique, but the only thing I find is how to apply filters to photos or type to accomplish the effect.
Is it possible to start a drawing in Illustrator from scratch and get something like the image below? If so, what kind of brushes would you suggest?

I installed an update for the Adobe creative suite 6 yesterday on my computer, and now my Illustrator won't open at all!

after a couple of hours working on illustrator or photoshop it crashes and gives me an error saying, " this extrusion file is bad or corrupted" any ideas? thank you in advance! this is for adobe CS6
It seems like after a few hours adobe CS6 (mostly using illustrator and photoshop) crashes and gives me the error "This extrusion file is bad or corrupted" Adobe helpdesk only supports Creative Cloud and not CS6. Tried updating display drivers, reinstall of software, etc. Please help!

How do I keep the path when filling in a symbol?
Here's an example of my problem:
You can seen the ends and the underside of the banner look fine but when I fill in the front (and it definitely isn't the path I'm filling in) the black path gets filled in as well.
Have any of you experienced this before?

How much should I charge for designing a wedding suite for a client who is a friend? [was: This is not a technical question]
Not a technical question, but a question of advice. I've known this forum for some time and trust the opinions of all you lovely professional people.
So, I'm designing a wedding suite for a friend. Entire package will consist of:
Tags for engagement party favors (will go on wine/beer bottles) -- this is done already
Save the dates
Wedding invitation
Response card
Another tag for gift bags that will go in hotel rooms for guests
Letterhead, to include in the bags. Just something to layout schedule, itinerary, etc.
Thank you cards
I've never been good with pricing, to be honest. I'm usually a pretty fast worker, so I don't like charging by hour. I guess it's just kind of hard for me to price out something that I can do for "free" so to speak, as in that it doesn't cost me anything but my time to turn out a product. Not that the fact that I'm speedy undervalues my work, but I think you get the point.
So my question is, what would you price for this package? With a bit of a friendly discount, of course.

Anybody having trouble pasting texture into the opacity masks box in the transparency window?
Very frustrating, works sometimes, sometimes doesn't. When I cut and paste the texture into the "black box" in the transparency window it doesn't copy and appears white on my document.

Outlining a stroke creates boxes around image
When learning Illustrator, I was taught to always outline strokes once an image is finished so scaling can be equal in all parts. However, I sometimes get this look where (if scaled down) the outline stroke effect creates boxes around the original art. Why does this happen randomly and how can I correct the issue?
